The Benefits of

Compost

Compost is the only slow releasing soil amendment containing all of the necessary nutrients to maintain balanced levels of: Macro-elements: nitrogen, phosphorus & potassium; Micro-elements: iron, sulphur & manganese; Oligo-elements: copper & boron.

Compost Tea Compost   Tea   is   a   liquid   extract   taken   from   stable,   mature compost.   The   method   used   to   make   compost   tea   is   called "brewing".      The      brewing      process      washes      the beneficial microbes off the compost. Compost     Tea     is     used     to     stimulate     soil biological   activity,   improve   soil   structure   and enhance overall plant health. At   Northridge   Farms'   our   Compost   Tea   is   made   from 100%    organic    compost.    Use    Compost    Tea    to    inoculate microbial   life   into   the   soil   or   onto   the   foliage   of   plants   and add   soluble   nutrients   to   the   foliage   or   the   soil,   to   feed   the organisms and the plants present.
The Difference Between Compost and Compost Tea is : During   the   brewing   process   of   compost   tea,   we   increase the    beneficial    microbes    by    an    average    of    15,000 times    from    the    number    of    microbes    in    our compost; Microbes    stay    dormant    in    compost    tea    and    in compost      tea      become      metabolically      active resulting     in     more     rapid     and     substantial results; Very   easy   to   apply   because   Compost   Tea   is   in a   liquid   form,   so   it   can   be   applied   to   the   soil   or foliage.
Neutral PH -- The organic matter contained in compost (about 60%) acts as a reserve, holding micronutrients until needed and allow for more naturally balanced ph levels. One way by which the pathogenic disease causing organisms can be suppressed indirectly, is through the addition of organic matter / compost to mineral soils. Compost addition enhances population levels of beneficial soil micro-organisms (the "Good Guys). When organic matter, such as compost, is added to topsoil, the natural organic matter content is raised considerably and increases food source (carbon) availability for the beneficial soil micro-organisms. By maintaining good organic matter content in soil, an increased population level of beneficial soil micro-organisms can be maintained. These non-pathogenic fungi and bacteria help to promote well developed, healthy root systems by releasing essential elements and suppressing disease causing micro-ogranisms. Add compost tea for healthier soil.
What is the Difference Between Compost and Compost Tea?
Eco-TeaTM      is      an      actively      aerated casting/compost   tea   with   the   addition of   an   organic   blend   of   humic,   fulvic   and long-chain     amino     acids,     Atlantic     kelp extract,           simple           and           complex carbohydrates     and     enzymes.     Further,     it injects    soluble    macro    and    micronutrients    in chelated     (plant-available)     form     into     plant     root zones.   The   real   benefit   is   the   biology   within   Eco-TeaTM. The   biology   community   will   improve   soil   structure,   root function/biomass   and   the   release   and   uptake   of   N-P-K   + micronutrients. Eco-TeaTM   contains   various   sources   of   humidified   organic matter    (earthworm    castings    and    plant-based    compost), which     continuously     inoculate     the     roots     with     active microbes    and    organic    matter    throughout    the    growing season.    These    two    sources    supply    and    generate    food materials for plants. Eco-TeaTM    is    specially    brewed    to    create    a    balanced ecosystem    within    your    soil.    It's    unique    combination    of
night-crawler    castings/compost,    humic    acid,    bio- stimulants   and   micronutrients   provide   a   vast   array of benefits. The    humic    acid    chelates    macronutrients    and    the fulvic   acid   chelates   mironutrients,   effectively   typing them   up   in   the   soil   in   plant   available   forms.   Atlantic kelp    provides    a    food    source    for    important    fungi,    while improving   the   functions   of   most   plant   hormones.   Based   on   the amount   of   ingredients   added,   Eco-TeaTM   will   be   dominated   by   plaint beneficial   bacteria   or   fungi.   We   can   also   provide   a   balanced   formula   for general purposes. The    plant    beneficial    within    Eco-TeaTM    will    help    to    increase    pathogen stress   from   bacteria,   fungi   and   some   insects.   This   means   plants   will   focus less   on   producing   energy   expensive   shock   proteins,   which   will   drastically increase growth rates and yields. Some Benefits of Regular Eco-TeaTM Applications: Increase in root function and biomass Increase in availability of natural phosphates and iron Increase in plant vigor and chlorophyll production Inoculates    plant    roots    with    millions    of    plant    beneficial    microbes with just a couple of milliliters Improves   stress   tolerance   (transplant,   drought,   cold,   physical   and pathogen)

It   is      just   impossible   to   rate   Compost   Tea   or   Compost   in   terms   of NPK.   The    traditional    NPK    rating    system    describes    the    solubility    of    a synthetic   fertilizer.   Synthetic   nutrients   are   readily   available   to   the plant   roots   for   absorption.   However,   the   plant   might   not   be   in   a need   for   that   particular   nutrient   at   the   time.   As   synthetic   nutrients do   not   remain   in   the   soil   very   long,   they   might   not   be   available when needed due to heavy watering or rainfall.
